A disk device (100) has a housing (10), a disk processing section (20), a drive motor (41), conveyance means (30), and a disk clamp section (70). The conveyance means (30) is driven by a drive motor (41) to convey an optical disk (1) while holding it. The disk clamp section (70) switches over transmission of the drive of the motor (41) and swings the disk processing section (20), where the switchover of the drive transmission is according to the state of holding of the optical disk (1) that is held by the conveyance means (30) and has different diameters. Driving one motor (41) enables both the conveyance of the optical disk (1) and the swing of the disk processing section (20). Timing to convey the optical disk (1) and timing to swing the disk processing section (20) can be excellently regulated according to the diameter of the optical disk (1).
