<p>[PROBLEMS] An optical disk playback device such as the so-called disk changer device where plural kinds of optical disks are received and a desired optical disk is selectively played back. In the playback device, a time until a special playback such as a random playback starts is reduced when optical disks such as DVDs on which movies etc. are recorded and that are not subjected to the random playback are mixed in the optical disks. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In the optical disk playback device, each optical disk (11) is subjected to determination of the kind of medium, such as whether it is a CD or a DVD, and if the disk is a physical medium whose special playback is permitted, management information, such as TOC information, required for the special playback is read and then the next optical disk (11) is subjected to the determination. When it is determined that the next medium is a medium whose playback is not permitted, the next optical disk (11) is immediately subjected to the determination, and a microcomputer (10) performs control so that the special playback is made according to the management information of the optical disk (11) having been determined that its special playback is permitted.</p> |
