PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column joint structure which makes a lower end of a steel pipe of an upper column of a concrete-filled steel-pipe column and an upper end of a steel pipe of a lower column thereof connected together by means of an energy absorbing member, so as to properly exert a vibration control effect, by making a tensile force introduced into the energy absorbing member, when bending deformation occurs in a column due to earthquakes etc. SOLUTION: A lower end surface 3a of the steel pipe 3 of the upper column 2 of the concrete steel-pipe column and an upper end surface 5a of the steel pipe 5 of the lower column 4 thereof are brought into surface contact with each other, and the upper and lower steel pipes 3 and 5 are connected together by means of the energy absorbing member 6.
