APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TREATING WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating water capable of suppressing a decrease in permeation flux of a reverse osmosis membrane by beforehand reducing a fine organic substance or the like which soils the reverse osmosis membrane without using an oxidizing agent such as ozone and hydrogen peroxide as a pre-treatment of organic substance-containing water to be treated with the reverse osmosis membrane, and a method for treating water. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating water comprises an organic substance reducing tank for reducing the organic substance in the organic substance-containing water by supplying an oxygen-containing gas, and a reverse osmosis membrane device for separating organic substance-reduced water from the organic substance reducing tank into permeated water and non-permeated water by the reverse osmosis membrane.
