A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to reflect the light emitted from a lamp tube by the second reflection member, thereby enhancing the uniformity of brightness. A backlight assembly generates the light beam. A display panel is divided into effective display area for displaying an image by means of the light beam and non-effective display area adjacent to the effective display area. The backlight assembly includes a lamp. The lamp includes a lamp tube for generating the light beam. An external electrode is equipped to the outside end of the lamp tube and receives the driving voltage from the outside. A reflection plate(600) is equipped to the lower portion of the lamp and includes the first reflection member for reflecting the light leaked from the lamp and the second reflection member for covering the outside electrode. A receiving container(500) includes a bottom surface and a sidewall extended from the bottom surface and receives the lamp and reflection plate. |
