PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, image forming method, and program which aim to improve the efficiency of a memory and a throughput.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with: an RAM 120 having a common storage area 123 where intermediate data and bitmap data are temporarily stored; and a CPU 100 which, in checking whether or not the intermediate data can be stored in the common storage area 123, determines whether or not either of the intermediate data or the bitmap data stored in the common storage area 123 are going to be deleted when there is no capacity for an empty area equal to a preset threshold or larger, and regards a capacity of the intermediate data or bitmap data which are determined to be going to be deleted as a capacity for the empty area.
