<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the hydroxyl group content of an aromatic polymer composition, by which the hydroxyl group content of the aromatic polymer useful as an electronic part material, an electric part material, a mechanical part material or the like can arbitrarily be controlled by the simply and quick method. <P>SOLUTION: This method for adjusting the hydroxyl group content of the aromatic polymer composition is characterized by mixing two or more kinds of phenolic polymers having different hydroxyl group contents, respectively, selected from phenolic polymers having repeating units of the general formulas (2) and/or (3) obtained by oxidation-polymerizing a compound represented by the general formula (1) in the presence of an oxidation-reduction enzyme.
