PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital signal receiver with excellent noise and distortion characteristics independently of an input level of a received RF signal. SOLUTION: The digital signal receiver 1 includes: an amplifying block 2 for applying frequency conversion and amplification to a high frequency signal resulting from receiving a digitally modulated carrier by a data sequence and outputting the resulting signal; and a demodulation block 3 for A/D converting the signal outputted from the amplifying block 2 and demodulating the converted signal, and the amplifying block 2 includes: a variable gain amplifier 4 for amplifying the high frequency signal and outputting the amplified signal; a variable gain amplifier 5 for amplifying the signal on the basis of the output from the variable gain amplifier 4; and a digital signal processing circuit 7 for revising the sharing of gains of the variable gain amplifiers 4, 5 in response to an input level of the received high frequency signal.
