PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of preventing a recording error from occurring when recording data to a write-once capable optical disk. SOLUTION: When a recording error occurs on the optical disk device, and a disk ID and a recording error history are recorded (step 212) in a nonvolatile memory in the optical disk device as a recording error log, and recording to the write-once capable optical disk is started from the next time thereafter, the disk ID of the optical disk to start recording is compared with the disk ID under logging a recording error in the nonvolatile memory (step 203), and if both are in agreement, the recording is performed (step 206) limiting recording double speed (step 205) based on recording error conditions of the recording error history in the recorded error log. Since the past recording error history is referred to in advance when carrying out recording to the optical disk, recording error can be avoided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
