摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent collapse or the like of the ground by lining an excavated wall surface of a working face adjoining part exposed to the front side of an outer drum when recovering a boring machine body in a state of leaving the outer drum on the excavated wall surface of a tunnel after the construction of the tunnel. SOLUTION: The tunnel is excavated by a tunnel boring machine having a cutter head body 1 with a ring-like outer peripheral frame 4 detachably mounted to the outer periphery. After the excavation, the connection of the outer peripheral surface of the cutter head body 1 to the ring-like outer peripheral frame 4 is released. The cutter head body 1 is reduced in diameter, and the boring machine body 10 is recovered backward for removal together with the cutter head body 1 in the state of leaving the outer drum of the tunnel boring machine on the tunnel excavated wall surface together with the ring-like outer peripheral frame 4. The outer drum 10 is moved forward to join its front end face to the rear end face of the ring-like outer peripheral frame 4.
