<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of correcting defects in an image generated due to mechanical factors by correction of the image, without having to use a mechanical adjustment mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A screen processor 21 applies screen processing (pseudo-halftone processing) on a multi-valued image data inputted, and outputs binarized image data for each color to a correction processor 23. A distortion detector 22 detects distortion (deformation) of an output image formed on a form, and notifies the detected result to the correction processor 23. The correction processor 23 applies correction processing on the image data inputted from the screen processor 21, according to the screen processing characteristics at the screen processor 21, and corrects the distortions of the image detected by the distortion detector 22. The correction processor 23 divides the image into a plurality of regions, and performs correction by applying the amount of correction different for each region and array parameters of the pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
