PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head end knob for preventing cracking of an operation member and peeling of metal plating of the member. SOLUTION: A head end knob 1 is composed of a nearly-cylindrical knob main body 10 having a large opening 11 and a small opening 12 on respective sides in an axial direction; a cap 20 attached to the opening 12 of the main body 10; and an operation member 30 which is metal plated and attached to a side face of the main body 10. The main body 10 has a guide projection 14 formed with a key groove 13 so as to insert the member 30 in the axial direction. The member 30 has an arm 31 formed integrally with the member 30 so as to insert the key groove 13 therein, and a projection 32 set inside the arm 31 so as to abut an inside face 14b of the projection 14.
