<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly calculate a crank angle of an engine in a hybrid automobile with a crankshaft of the engine connected to a power distribution/integration mechanism via a damper. <P>SOLUTION: When a reference pulse is inputted, and a load Pe of the engine 22 is smaller than a threshold Pth wherein setting of a reference position by using the reference pulse can not be carried out due to torsion of the damper (steps S200-220), the crank angle CA and displacement angles Δθm1, Δθm2 of rotors of two motors are reset (step S230). When the reference pulse is not inputted, or the load Pe of the engine is larger than the threshold Pth (steps S210, S220), the crank angle CA is calculated on the basis of the displacement angles Δθm1, Δθm2 (steps S240-S270).
