<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual identification device wherein a protection plate provided before an imaging means in an advance direction of light transmitted through a test subject such that dirt or dust does not come into the imaging means from the outside is not used as it is dirty. <P>SOLUTION: This individual identification device receiving light passing a fingerprint of the test subject by the imaging means to acquire a fingerprint image corresponding to the fingerprint, and identifying an individual on the basis of fingerprint information obtained from the fingerprint image has: the protection plate disposed between the test subject and the imaging means; a dirt detection processing part detecting dirt of the protection plate by comparing the images at the present time and at a time point when knowing that the protection plate is not dirty, imaged by the imaging means when the test subject does not interpose in a path of the light; and a dirt notification means notifying that the protection plate is dirty when receiving a signal of the effect that the protection plate is dirty from the dirt detection processing part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
