PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel display television and a defect detection apparatus whereby when a plurality of inspection parts exist, what part to be repaired can easily be discriminated, and elimination of a defect can quickly be realized. SOLUTION: The panel display television discriminates the presence/absence of a defect for a target inspection point, when the discrimination indicates the presence of a defect and the presence of the defect is notified through light emitting display, the panel display television executes the discrimination of the presence/absence of prescribed defects for a plurality of inspection points, refers to priority specification data for specifying the priority of the inspection points selected as repair objects set in advance in response to a result of the discrimination when the presence of the defects is discriminated, the panel display television specifies the inspection points selected to be repair objects, generates an electric signal with a pattern corresponding to the particularized inspection points, and a phosphor is blinked by controlling the blink pattern of the prescribed phosphor in response to the pattern of the electric signal.
