PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic pigment composition usable in aqueous coatings and having excellent coating storage stability, with scarce deterioration of brightness, a covering property, a flip flop feeling or the like when formed into coating films and further having excellent preservation stability. SOLUTION: The metal pigment composition contains at least one organic molybdenum compound and a metal pigment; or contains an organic molybdenum compound and an antioxidant or a reduction inhibitor or a light stabilizer, and a metal pigment.
