PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder injection and spark ignition type internal combustion engine capable of accurately calculating a fuel deposition amount in a combustion chamber and correcting a fuel injection amount irrespective of differences of fuel injection and ignition timing in the same operation mode. SOLUTION: During stratification operation in a spray guide mode, the more an injection-ignition period IT-SA from fuel injection timing IT to ignition timing SA gets longer and the amount of fuel deposition to a piston and a cylinder is increased, the more a deposition rate correction coefficient Kdeph is set on an increase side (step S28), and the fuel injection amount injM is set based on a cylinder fuel deposition rate Kdep corrected by the deposition rate correction coefficient Kdeph (steps S30, 32).
