摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system and an operation method of a direct-injection internal combustion engine which restrains output of the engine from being reduced, while suppressing a temperature rise in the catalyst bed of an exhaust-gas purifying catalyst when a fuel injection quantity exceeds an output injection-quantity. SOLUTION: In the operation method of a direct injection internal combustion engine provided with a fuel injection valve for directly injecting fuel into a fuel chamber, an intake air-flow and an accelerator opening are acquired (ST101), so that the fuel-injection quantity Q is computed (ST102) and the output injection-quantity Q1 is computed (ST103). When the fuel-injection quantity Q exceeds a computed output injection-quantity Q1 (ST104), fuel of the computed output-injection quantity Q1 is injected by the fuel-injection valve in the intake stroke, and the fuel of the remaining injection-quantity (ST105-107) of the remainder of the subtraction of the output injection-quantity Q1 from the fuel injection quantity Q is injected by the fuel injection valve in the exhaust stroke (ST108).
