PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition that reduces the coefficient of friction on the surface of fluororubber and actualizes low-temperature properties and to provide a method for producing crosslinked fluororubber. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises fluoropolymer that is composed of a low-temperature type ternary fluoropolymer and is vulcanizable with a peroxide, a crosslinking promoter composed of a quaternary phosphonium salt and a peroxide-based crosslinking agent in the ratio of 0.5-15 pts.wt. of the quaternary phosphonium salt based on 100 pts.wt. of the fluoropolymer. The method for producing a crosslinked fluororubber comprises heat-treating the rubber composition, comprising fluoropolymer that is composed of a low-temperature type ternary fluoropolymer and is vulcanizable with a peroxide, a crosslinking promoter composed of a quaternary phosphonium salt and a peroxide-based crosslinking agent in the ratio of 0.5-15 pts.wt. of the quaternary phosphonium salt based on 100 pts.wt. of the fluoropolymer, at 200-300°C.
