PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial tire for a motorcycle in particular having all linear advancement stability, handling performance, slide control performance and a grip maintaining property required as a racing tire in good balance. SOLUTION: A radial carcass 1 is constituted of two sheets of carcass plies 1a, 1b comprising cords inclined in a mutual opposite direction relative to a circumferential direction at an angle of 60-90°or larger and a spiral belt 2 is directly arranged at the outer side of the radial carcass 1. An organic fiber cord of a belt protection layer 5 arranged at the outer side of the spiral belt 2 is arranged so as to be continuously extended between both shoulders at an inclination angle of 70-90°relative to the circumferential direction while straddling an equator surface.
