<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus used for the growth of a carbon nanotube. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a reaction chamber for housing a cylindrical base material and a selective bending member mounted adjacent to the reaction chamber and for bending the base material cylindrically.
