<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyesterimide having a low liner thermal expansion coefficient, a high glass transition temperature, a low water absorption, film toughness sufficient for various applications, and etching characteristics, and useful as an electric insulation film or the like in various kinds of electronic devices; and to provide a precursor thereof, and a method for producing them. <P>SOLUTION: The polyesterimide comprises a repeating unit represented by formula (2) (wherein, X is a divalent aromatic or alicyclic group; the bonding position relation of the divalent group is a para-position or a position corresponding thereto; Y is a 1-12C linear or branched alkyl group or alkoxy group; and Z is a hydrogen atom, a silyl group or a 1-12C linear or branched alkyl group). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
