PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound for regulating intracellular calcium concentration. SOLUTION: The composition for regulating the intracellular calcium concentration contains a bis-boron compound represented by formula I [wherein, B is boron; Y is oxygen or sulfur; R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group containing a heteroatom selected from oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur; R<SB>3</SB>is hydrogen, -(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>m</SB>-NR<SB>4</SB>R<SB>5</SB>, -CO-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>m</SB>-NR<SB>4</SB>R<SB>5</SB>, -COCH(NH<SB>2</SB>)R<SB>6</SB>, -CHR<SB>7</SB>R<SB>8</SB>, -CH<SB>2</SB>CH(NH<SB>2</SB>)-R<SB>9</SB>, an alkyl group-substituted quinolyl, or an alkyl substituted with pyridyl group, piperidino group or pyrrolidinyl group; X is equal to or different from R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>, and is an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, or a bifunctional group having aromatic groups or heterocyclic groups bonded through a group selected from the group consisting of a single bond, O, CH<SB>2</SB>, S, SO<SB>2</SB>, CH<SB>2</SB>OCH<SB>2</SB>, OCH<SB>2</SB>, OCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>OCH<SB>2</SB>, OCH<SB>2</SB>OCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>and CH<SB>2</SB>OCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>at both sides] or a salt thereof as an active ingredient.
