PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturable and electrically configurable MRAM device. SOLUTION: An MRAM device 50 includes a memory array (MRAM cell block 52 and reference MRAM cell block 54) including a magnetic memory cell. A first portion of the memory array includes memory cells (normal row group N_ROWS) to be accessed for read/write during normal operation, and a second portion includes memory cells (configuration row group C_ROWS) to be read when power is turned on. The second portion is used for storing configuration data for changing physical operation of the memory array. A programmable current source 70 and an internal timing control section 73 optimize device performance using the setting data.
