PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter configuration in which both enhancement of filtration performance and enhancement of clogging durability are satisfied, and to provide a cleaning sequence. SOLUTION: An ink jet unit employs a recording head equipped with a surface filtration filter and a volume varying section communicating with a channel for feeding liquid supplied from an ink tank to a recording element.
