PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pluggable connector for coupling an information system unit to a fiber optical cable. SOLUTION: The connector relating to this invention includes; a housing; a moveable collar disposed on an optical connector connected to an end of the housing and surrounding the optical connector; a cam connected to the above moveable collar; and a spring loaded latch extending from a side of the housing for engaging a receptacle on the information system unit, to secure the connector in the receptacle, and the cam is engaged by the spring loaded latch so that, when the moveable collar is pulled in a direction away from the housing, the latch is retracted to enable the connector to be released from the receptacle.
