摘要 <p>Provided are a position detecting system and a position detecting method, in which the position measurement of a device is not deteriorated in precision even if the resonance frequency of a magnetic induction coil fluctuates. The position detecting system is characterized by comprising a device mounting the magnetic induction coil thereon, a drive coil for generating an alternating field having a position calculating frequency near the resonance frequency of the magnetic induction coil and adapted to be applied to the magnetic induction coil, a plurality of magnetic sensors for detecting the induced magnetic field generated by the magnetic induction coil in response to the alternating field, a measurement reference value calculating unit (50d) for determining a measurement reference value in the position calculating frequency on the basis of the output value of the magnetic sensor at the time when only the alternating field is applied, a position analyzing unit (50e) for calculating at least one of the position and the direction of the device on the basis of a differential measurement value or the difference between the output value of the magnetic sensor at the time when the alternating field and the induced magnetic field are applied, and the measurement reference value, and a resetting unit (50b) for resetting the position calculating frequency at a predetermined timing.</p>
