The method involves positioning a recess (3) to an upper surface (2) of a plate-shaped basic material (1). Another recess (4) is positioned in a rear side (5) of the basic material, where the rear side is turned away from the upper surface. The recess (3) is displaceably arranged on the recess (4) in the longitudinal direction of the basic material. The basic material is separated in the region between the recesses in the plates (6,7).
