<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print inspection apparatus capable of flexibly inspecting prints with high accuracy at high speed without the need for character recognition processing. <P>SOLUTION: The print inspection apparatus 1 includes: a main body unit 10 for reading images of consecutive slips unidirectionally conveyed, and a processing unit 30 that calculates feature quantity from character information of characters received in advance from a print server 60 and printable on the slips by a system printer 70 and resolution information of the printer 70, generates a cross-reference dictionary between the feature quantities and the characters, calculates the feature quantity by segmenting a character image from the image read by the main body unit 10, and discriminates that the characters of the inspection objects are correctly printed on the slips by the printer 70 when the feature quantity of the segmented characters is a discrimination criterion or more with respect to the feature quantity of the characters in cross reference with the dictionary by using right solution information relative to the character string printed on the slips by the printer 70 as an index. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
