PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile in which the engine torque intended by a driver is secured even if the load torque of a generator on an engine is varied and, particularly, the risk of engine stall when the load on the engine is large in such a case that a clutch is engaged is reduced.

SOLUTION: The load torque Tg' of the generator on the engine is predicted by a control device after several hundred milli-second at longest based on a present generator filed voltage Vgf and a generator rotational speed Ng. Based on the prediction, the engine is controlled so that the output torque of the engine is not shorted.
