摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation element which optically compensates a liquid crystal layer of a black display state with high precision, prevents light leakage at a wide viewing angle and hardly causes the secular deterioration, to provide a manufacturing method of the optical compensation element, to provide a liquid crystal display device which is high in viewing angle, high in contrast, high in image quality and long in service life by using the optical compensation element, and to provide a liquid crystal projector provided with the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation element comprises a substrate and a layer containing at least a reducing agent. The manufacturing method of the optical compensation element is also provided.
