<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branch core wire with a multi-core optical connector which facilitates the wiring in optical equipment or on an optical circuit board by achieving space-saving and improving flexibility. <P>SOLUTION: A single-core optical fiber 12 has an inner clad 12b and an outer clad 12c on a naked fiber. For example, all of sixteen single-core optical fibers 12 are divided into two single-core optical fiber groups A, B, for example by eight single-core optical fibers. The outer clads 12c of the tip side part of respective multi-core optical fibers 12 are removed and the inner clads 12b are exposed to obtain fine diameters (fine diameter parts 12d). The respective eight fine diameter parts 12d are bundled every multi-core optical fiber groups A, B and the respective bundled eight fine diameter parts are covered with heat shrinkable tubes 14 such that each of the neighbor parts of the outer clad end parts of the multi-core optical fiber groups A, B is covered with the base end part of each heat shrinkable tube 14. Both of tube-covered optical fiber bundles 15 are introduced into a multi-core optical connector 13. As compared to the case of housing all of single-core optical fibers 12 into one extended protective tube of a large size, the space-saving is achieved and the flexibility is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
