<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repeater enabling two private multicast networks having a difference in scale of video resources to share the video resources without imposing a heavy load or intending specific improvement of performance. <P>SOLUTION: For the multicast network A, the repeater 10 registers the smaller number of virtual group addresses than the number of multicast group addresses set in the multicast network B, into tables 14a, 15a; and repeats multicast packets between the networks A and B. Upon receiving requests from reception terminal devices 23, 24 of the multicast network A (YES in S304, S305), the repeater apparatus 10 changes a multicast group address to be assigned to the virtual group address to another multicast group address (YES in S404, S406 and YES in S407). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
