NETWORK INTERFACE CONTROLLING LOCK OPERATION, PACKET DATA COMMUNICATION ON-CHIP INTERCONNECT SYSTEM INCLUDING THE NETWORK INTERFACE, AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE NETWORK INTERFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of supporting a lock operation in a packet data communication on-chip interconnect system for performing data transfer via a network interface.

SOLUTION: A network interface includes a status control section for monitoring a transaction between one or more of master IP blocks connected via a slave IP block and NoC backbone, and a buffer for buffering a data burst entered from the master IP blocks. The status control section buffers a lock sequence in a buffer when receiving the lock sequence from the second master IP block while the slave IP blocks executes transaction with the first master IP block, and controls the buffered lock sequence so as to transmit to the slave IP block when completing the transaction of the first master IP block.
