PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera equipped with an image display of which a display screen is protected with no labor for a smaller size when carried or housed. SOLUTION: In a digital camera 10 by such simple operation as continuously shifting a grip 22 to first, second, and third positions, shifting of modes, carry (storage) to still picture photographing to motion picture taking to still picture photographing to carry (storage) is automatically performed by a CPU50. Since a user clearly understands a current mode of the digital camera 10 based on the form of the grip part 22, an operation corresponding to the operation mode can be intuitively performed.
