PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database construction method utilizing lines that can be used in a number of information collection fields by translating various and concrete translation documents from arrival information to a prescribed line, and dispenses with the number of lines prepared for a number of customers. SOLUTION: The database construction method utilizes the lines. In the lines, conversion to a character string registered for each user 1 is performed to each incoming call for each of a plurality of telephone lines A, B, C in an operator 3 having a computer 5 for connecting the plurality of telephone lines A, B, C via a terminal 4. The conversion is made by an incoming call translation means 6 for translating to the registered character string, thus adding a translation character string (for example, "departure", "on the way", "arrival", and the like) registered for each user for each arrival to the plurality of lines, and hence enabling anyone to perform identification in the form of a clear character string only by the arrival to the prescribed line for storage as information.
