PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film thickness measuring device of a belt and a film thickness measuring method of the belt capable of measuring the film thickness of the belt accurately and continuously. SOLUTION: A distance RA and a distance SA are measured by an upper laser displacement gage 14A. A distance RB and a distance SB are measured by a lower laser displacement gage 14B. A difference between the distance RA and the distance SA, namely, a distance TA is determined. A difference between the distance RB and the distance SB, namely, a distance TB is determined. The film thickness of the belt 10 is operated by subtracting the sum of the distance TA and the distance TB from a distance P between a belt facing surface of an upper transparent reference glass plate 16A and a recessed part 22 bottom part of a lower transparent reference glass plate 16B.
