PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil strainer capable of securing sufficient filtering performance and reducing pressure loss even when the space for installation is small. SOLUTION: This oil strainer 1 comprises a hollow strainer body 4. An oil suction hole 2 and an oil supply hole 3 are formed in the strainer body 4. A flange 9 in which a pair of bolt holes 5, 6 for inserting tightening bolts therein are formed is formed at the peripheral edge of the oil supply hole 3. The pair of bolt holes 5, 6 are offset in the direction opposite to the oil suction hole 2 so that the straight line L connecting the centers thereof to each other does not pass through the center P of the oil supply hole 3. A stay 11 is formed near the oil suction hole 2. The strainer body 4 is secured to a cylinder block.
