PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical direction driving type single spindle robot to eliminate a motor having large driving force and a large type brake. SOLUTION: This single spindle robot having a case member extending in the vertical direction and a movable member mounted free to move in the axial direction is constituted so that the movable member and a balance weight are free to move through a pulley by providing the pulley 43 free to rotate on an upper end of the case member and suspending a belt member 42 on the one end side of which the movable member is mounted, and on the other end side of which the balance weight 41 is mounted on the pulley.
