PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article holder capable of easily holding an article such as a cloth or towel in such a way that the cloth or towel held by the holder will not easily slip down. SOLUTION: The article holder comprises a pair of grasping pieces 22 and 23 disposed to face each other in such a way to grasp the article 13, and an attaching part 27 for attaching the pair of grasping pieces 22 and 23 to a counter. Holder pieces 32 and 31 for holding the article 13 inserted between opened ends of the pair of grasping pieces 22 and 23 are disposed to project toward the opposite grasping pieces. The holder pieces 32 and 31 are formed in such a way that the distal ends are located inward from the opened ends of the opposite grasping pieces, and guide faces 32a and 31a for guiding the article 13 in the direction of insertion are formed on the outer surfaces of the respective holder pieces 32 and 31.
