The invention relates to a method for the transmission and reception of signals with different sampling frequencies. The inventive method can be used to reduce the cost of receivers through the use of fast Fourier transforms, in a periodic manner, in order to transform the signals received from the time domain to the frequency domain, with the number of samples being used resulting in a reduced cost. The method involves a small drop in performance, but said drop is acceptable in the transmission of coexistence signals or in other signals that are normally used in communication systems since it enables the use of different sampling frequencies, both in the transmitter and in the receivers, which leads to a reduction in the cost.
