A controlling method of a compound air conditioning system is provided to install a refrigerant circulation device in a cooling device and to operating the cooling device and the refrigerant circulation device with an optimum mode. A controlling method of a compound air conditioning system includes the steps of setting an indoor temperature, detecting the indoor temperature, comparing the preset indoor temperature and the detected indoor temperature, operating a first mode if the detected indoor temperature is larger than the preset indoor temperature + 2°C, operating a second mode if the detected indoor temperature is equal to or larger than the preset indoor temperature - 2°C and is equal to or smaller than the preset indoor temperature + 2°C, and operating a third mode if the detected indoor temperature is equal to or larger than the preset indoor temperature - 3°C and is smaller than preset indoor temperature - 2°C.
