LONG-SIZE CIRCULARLY POLARIZING FILM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-size circularly polarizing film in which a slow axis is controlled in an arbitrary direction.

SOLUTION: The long-size circularly polarizing is constituted by by stacking a retardation film which comprises: a transparent substrate; an alignment layer formed on the transparent substrate; and a retardation layer formed on the alignment layer and containing liquid crystal material, and is formed to be long-size, on an optical film which is formed to be long-size, wherein the alignment layer is a photo-aligned film made of a photo alignment material which exhibits an alignment restraining force according to a photo alignment method.
