<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device in which the regeneration of a filter is efficiently and accurately performed by accurately estimating the deposited amount of particulates on the filter. <P>SOLUTION: Based on the temperature of the filter 48, the basic combustion amount of the particulates in the thin holes of the filter 48 is provided. Based on the amounts of specific components in the exhaust gases such as NOx and oxygen contributing to the combustion of the particulates collected by the filter 48, the basic combustion amount is corrected and the combustion amount of the particulates in the thin hole.
