摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform driving support control responsively with high precision while giving proper consideration to and absorbing an obstacle detection error. <P>SOLUTION: A stereo image recognition device 4 determines a traveling region based on the course a user's vehicle is traveling, and extracts a solid object the closest to the user's vehicle 1 in the traveling region as an object of which possibility of hitting the user's vehicle 1 is determined. The device at least sets a region by statistical processing according to the predetermined conditions, expresses the region by a hitting probability calculation formula (a formula that shows right and left ends, and a front end by the Gaussian distribution), and outputs the hitting probability calculated on the basis of the hitting probability calculation formula to a control unit 5. The control unit 5 performs the warning control whereby an alarm is sounded by a loud speaker 7 when the hitting probability is a predetermined threshold value or greater.
