PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line carrier communication system allowing safe work in replacing a coupler or temporarily separating it from a system. SOLUTION: A master set 2 of the power line carrier communication system includes a communication section 20 for performing power line carrier communication with a slave set 1 via a power line L; a direct connection terminal 21 to be directly connected to a power line L of a first system; a communication coupler 22 provided between the communication section 20 and the direct communication terminal 21, and interrupting a communication signal having a commercial power source frequency while allowing a communication signal having a frequency higher than the commercial power source frequency to pass; and a coupler connection terminal 23 connected between the communication section 20 and the communication coupler 22, and to be connected to the coupler 3 via a signal line Ld.
