PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication terminal and communication method which can suppress a processing load during handoff and can prevent communication quality from being unstable due to disorderly hand-off of a plurality of carriers in a mobile communication network using a multicarrier. SOLUTION: The radio communication terminal 200 is provided with: a main session processing part 205 which in company with a first radio base station, sets a main session composed of the prescribed number of carriers being equal to or greater than two and also equal to or below the half number of the number of maximum settable carriers and used for transmission of prescribed traffic flow; a sub-session processing part 207 for setting a main session candidate composed of the prescribed number of carriers between a second radio base station and the sub-session processing part; and a session switching part 211 for switching the main session to the main session candidate when the main session candidate is set.
