The method involves receiving, on a fax receiving server, a document sent by a sender per facsimile telegraphy and producing a file containing a copy of the fax message by the fax receiving server. The file is signed with an electronic signature. The file is forwarded to a location where the fax copy is processed. An independent claim is included for a device suitable for the method for transmitting documents.
