PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional apparatus which can connect an extension function module to a basic function module from any side of a successive provision direction. SOLUTION: The functional apparatus is configured by successively providing a basic function module which is disposed on a construction surface and performs power supply and information signal exchange via wiring laid beforehand and an extension function module 5 which performs power supply and information signal exchange via the basic function module 4. In module bodies 40, 50 of the function modules 4, 5, connecting terminals 46a, 56a for power supply and connecting terminals 46b, 56b for information signal transmission are disposed in housing recesses 40a, 50a on both left and right side surfaces. When a connecting chip 60 is interposed between the adjacent module bodies 40, 50, the connecting terminals 46a, 46b and the connecting terminals 56a, 56b corresponding thereto are electrically connected via the connecting chip 60 and both the function modules 4, 5 are electrically connected.
