PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of reducing smears without generating vertical black streaks due to over-correction, even when luminance signal values are saturated from pixels in an effective pixel region. SOLUTION: The imaging device has a solid-state imaging element and a signal processor provided with a black reference detector 14 for detecting the luminance signal value of a pixel as a black reference and that of a pixel in which smears occur; a luminance signal detector 15 for detecting the luminance signal value of each pixel in the effective pixel region; an orthogonal region average value detector 18 for detecting the luminance signal value of the average value of the prescribed number of pixels, after horizontally and continuously selecting the prescribed number of the pixels from the pixels whose luminance signal values have been detected by the luminance signal detection part; a correction value generator 16 for generating a correction value corresponding to the luminance signal value of the pixel, in which smears occur, from each detected luminance signal value detected with the black reference detector 14, the luminance signal detector 15, and the orthogonal region average value detector 18; and a corrector 17 for correcting the luminance signal value of the pixel, in which smears occur, from the correction value generated with the correction value generator 16.
